Always two there are, a master and an apprentice.

Did you ever have someone believe in you even when you didn’t believe in yourself? Coach Jim Felty is one of those people for me. He is a huge part of my story and I honestly never would have started this journey without his pushing. Coach Felty and I met in Kitsap County, Washington through my husbands coworkers….the whole Navy family really is a small one. I had signed up for a marathon and was thinking maybe I could finish it under four hours, Jim told me I could run under 3 hours and I said “You are loco!” He was completely serious. It was the push I needed and ever since then I’ve been focused on running down a dream. He is not only one of the most supportive friends I have but he is completely hysterical, will have you laughing for an entire 10 mile run, and most of all is extremely giving with him time, patience, & knowledge. He coached me for three years and now that I am “on my own” across the country I feel confident that he has taught me everything I need to know….like a little Jedi Knight in training is the ongoing joke.

Kitsap Sun writer Terry Mosher published a story on Coach Felty that made me smile and sums up Jim much better than I could. Here is the link: (Sorry I could not direct link it. Kitsap Sun was not having any of that 😉

  1. I’m extremely impressed with your writing skills as well as with the layout on your blog. Is this a paid theme or did you modify it yourself? Anyway keep up the excellent quality writing, it’s rare to see a nice blog like this
    one today.
