“I get to listen to music all day, talk about music all day, it’s really cool.”

In case you didn’t catch that quote. It’s from Kill Bill. Now you know the scene I am talking about. I LOVE music. Before even running memories, my favorite memories in high school were spending HOURS with friends at the CD store (yes CDs!) head phones on and wishing I had unlimited funds. I don’t listen to music when I run outside. I find it to be disassociating which is a bad thing for my training. However there are special occasions. If I am on a treadmill (which is often since I have a spouse who’s favorite mode of transportation is a submarine and 3 young kids who do not go to school full time yet) or if I’m on the bike trainer (injury provoked)…the music is ON. Do I love playlists? So much. The running playlists are not the music I listen to ALL the time. They are the upbeat, get you moving music, not angst ridden or thought provoking in the least…so judge all you want. Sometime I’ll share my country music playlist which will really get you judging.

Here’s a recent bike trainer playlist of mine which gives me about 25 miles of cycling time:

  1. You had me at Kill Bill. So happy I found your blog (thanks to msfitrunner). Funny, I think about Beatrix Kiddo when I’m dying on a long run and don’t know if I can keep going. Who needs real life when you have Quentin Tarantino.
